Whilst looking for a place to stage the Garden Festival in 2006, we found this fabulous seventies discotheque/beach club in a beautiful pine tree covered peninsula surrounded by the crystal clear Adriatic Sea.  Instantly, we knew the search was over as this location has everything we could have possibly wanted.

Designed by an Italian lady in 1969, there’s a circular discotheque at the centre and beyond the giant terrace,
a cocktail bar perched on the waterfront overlooking the islands. Years of neglect and some awful 80s decor meant a complete renovation was needed to restore the site to its former glory.

This year the club will be fitted with a Funktion One
sound system to guarantee it sounds as good as it
looks, and also air conditioning for comfort on those
hot summer nights.

As well as hosting the Garden Festival in 2008, Barbarella’s will be putting on weekly events throughout the summer season.

We will be collaborating with many of Britain’s and Europe’s top clubs to bring together a full spectrum of the finest djs and bands to spring from the dance music underground. Music lovers from all over Europe (and beyond) will have a whole summer of events to enjoy with weekly club-nights, beach parties, and of course the infamous Argonaughty Boat Parties.
